Intense artistic and cultural activity and a lively nightlife is a good way to describe Madrid. The city is home to some fantastic parks such as the botanical gardens which houses around 30,000 different types of trees and plants. The Retiro Park is as equally impressive, the 130 hectares of woodland is the largest and (some say) most impressive of the Madrid parks. The woodlands form an island in the middle of an asphalt sea and are fantastic to see and experience.

For art lovers, the Prado Museum is considered as one of the most important in the world as it is home to some of the world's most famous artists including Goya, Botticelli and Rembrandt. The royal palace is no longer used as a residence for the king but tourists can look around at most of the important rooms.

The cuisine available in Madrid is exquisite, the food and wine is second to none and dining in one of the many tapas bars is a great way to relax after a days sightseeing.
